On January 14th, 2021, the BCI community and the 2012 Aliyah lost a dear friend, Ben Macdonald. Ben passed away at 31 years young after a long fight with brain cancer. A New Yorker, Israel enthusiast, and all around fun guy, he is a friend that will be missed and remembered fondly. In honor of Ben’s memory, we’ve established this memorial fund to provide scholarships for other young adults experience the joys of BCI.
“When I think of Ben I think of positivity; of fun, youthfulness, jokes, and laughter. I think of his loyalty as a friend, and his genuine interest in getting to know people whether they‘re familiar or a stranger. Ben’s curiosity and thirst for life lead every chapter to an adventure, yet he never seemed lost. I will miss Ben dearly and smile when I think of him knowing that he left a great mark on this world.”
